The Bidens spend Friendsgiving with Marines and sailors : NPR

President Biden and first girl Jill Biden visited Marines and sailors aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Level in North Carolina Monday night to have a good time Friendsgiving.

“The American folks do not know the sacrifices you make,” the president stated earlier than meting out dinner to the troops. “One % of you represents 99% of the general public; you are all volunteers, you all simply present up, and also you’re at all times there.”

The dinner occurred in collaboration with the White Home’s Becoming a member of Forces Initiative, a program that helps army members and their households. Maj. Joshua Schubert instructed NPR that many of the Marines and sailors are junior enlisted members serving beneath the twond Marine Expeditionary Pressure and made the journey from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.

The primary girl instructed these in attendance that she and the president know what it is wish to be away from household through the holidays.

“We’re a army household. My dad was Navy; our son was Military. So, we really know what its wish to be away from your loved ones on Thanksgiving,” the primary girl stated. “So though you are away out of your households at dwelling and your house states, we all know that you simply’re right here with your loved ones right here, as a result of army is household.”
